The wiring that came attached was exactly the right length to feed through the arm and attach at the RCA side without any alteration and perfect movement in the arm. He simply desoldered the old wires at the RCA end, tied a string to them, pulled it through the arm, then tied the string to the end of the new wires and pulled it back worked perfectly without having to dismantle the arm at all. I had my tech rewire the arm with the harness and socket. I ordered the socket from SME which was about $70US (Listed at GBP 29.80) at the time with exchange rate, and when it arrived, it was already attached to the wiring (presoldered which is great at 33g wire is not easy to solder to such tiny pins). I had the same issue with my arm (same model II unimproved) where one of the pins got stuck in the socket and wouldn't contact the headshell.
